Buzz vs Twitter vs Facebook

What’s the Buzz all about?!

Google have released their take on social networking in the form of Buzz. But is it all its cracked up to be? Does it threaten the likes of Twitter and Facebook?

Buzz is still very young and its integration into the other social networks is somewhat limited. Currently Buzz is only able to talk with Twitter, but even that is somewhat limited. Buzz can connect to your Twitter account and turn a tweet into buzz, but it won’t turn a buzz into a tweet. Somewhat one sided, and one can only think is this an attempt at stealing the 18 million twitters and turning them into full blown buzzers?

If you’re looking for some kind of Facebook integration… think again. Google have refused to comment on any integration with Facebook for the foreseeable future. With 400 million Facebook users, they are the social networking industry leader. If anything, Facebook is more of a threat to Google than Google is to Facebook. I do not see people leaving all their existing contacts from Facebook (old school friends and family members), to favour what they may have in their email contacts list.

Buzz does have some nifty features, but they are nothing Facebook/Twitter have not covered already.

Check out http://buzz.google.com or look at the video Buzz for more information, and see if you can see what all the buzz is about!
