Has snow stopped work for you?

Tags: , , , , — Posted by Lee Rumble @ 12:03

With the recent snow storms and major interruption to most public transport services, companies country wide are expected to lose thousands of pounds.

For those that moved to Cloud computing last year, it came to the rescue! With emails, calendars, files, and remote applicationsĀ  available from anywhere with an internet connection, it has enabled most to work from home and stay safe and in touch.

Cloud computing is not a new concept, but it has been the step forward for most companies in 2009. With even faster internet speeds and an increase in security measures, cloud computing is really set to take off in 2010, probably more so after this recent deluge of snow!

  1. The offices we are based in were closed last Wednesday afternoon due to snow. Only three of our eight strong team made it into the office anyway including two of us who only live a couple of miles away. With loads still to do and clients and their customers depending on us the weather didn’t cause us too many problems. No one was stranded at home unable to access an important file on a server in the office which would have inhibited our ability to work before we switched to ‘the cloud’.

Fortunately, it was our clients who had to keep us waiting and not the other way around!
